At a meeting with residents and 4 Council members near Solis, on February 27th Council Member Clark requested that we "secure
public concerns with supportive research and place them in one unified document for review."
The public input for this 22-page document was obtained
via a post by me on February 28 on NextDoor.com, a social media platform. Around March
4th, after I had receiving over 2,500 views, NextDoor unexpectedly took down my
post and the content of Tracy Hinson’s repost.
I had previously brought up problems that I was enduring on
Nextdoor with regard to a particular 'Lead' with Council Member Garritano who is also a Lead.
He verified that he was a friend of hers.
I had previously brought up before this Council another concern, that Garritano’s opponent in the mayoral race, Tony Salvatore, has been
banned from NextDoor while simultaneously the particular 'Lead' had posted a link to website
SalvatoreForWildwood.com which, when clicked, directed you to the website
AboutMyOpponent.com and titled "About Tony Salvatore by Joe Garritano". While he had indicated that he was trying to
run a positive campaign, you found pages of disturbing remarks about Salvatore.
To be fair, I researched TonyForWildwood.com,
Tony Salvatore’s website where I saw videos Mr. Salvatore had posted disputing these alleged
events, supported by online articles and the Missouri Court's Case.net files.
I was shocked when I found that Tony, a Council member and a veteran who served our country to ensure our rights, was treated so
disrespectfully for years, that he had to sue the City, which was then forced
to be educated on how not to violate constitutional rights. Our brave men
and women of law enforcement have a hard enough job protecting us and they
don’t need to be used as political pawns by our elected officials.
So here's what I think: Mr. Garritano, you posted about having a mobile memorial in
Wildwood to honor our Veterans. Perhaps you can start the honoring by showing a
little respect to Lt. Col. Tony Salvatore.
